The recipe belongs to Drika, Phoebe's stepmom in Brazil — passed down for generations before Phoebe learned it herself and started making it for friends and family, just because she loved sharing it.
Henry got the push to turn it into something more after a surf trip to Peru left his skin and hair impossibly dry, with nothing on the shelf made for skin that lives in sun and salt water. So the two of them mixed, painted, and named it together, sitting in their living room in Oceanside — pheebutter, because it's body butter, made by Phoebe.
